Praia Da Rocha
Praia Da Rocha
Praia Da Rocha literally means Rock Beach and it emerged as one of the initial tourist destinations in southern Portugal, specifically in the costaline of Algarve. The first hotel in the area opened to business during the 1930s and has since witnessed a growth in number of tourists coming in to visit the place. The once secret haven is now known the world over such that it is considered as one of the major tourist attractions, not just in Portugal, but in the entire European continent.
The climate in Praia Da Rocha is fairly well all throughout the year, which is welcoming for all types of tourists, regardless of the time of year you decide to visit. Average temperature is approximately 30.55 degree Celsius and rainfall average runs around 6mm per month. Therefore, nothing can stop you from doing what you have set out to do in this place. As a holiday resort, it is bustling with accommodation choices ranging from luxury to medium-priced hotels, villas, and inns. The historical architectural design of the hotels lining along the coastline of the beach are a wonderful contrast to the modern facilities that now line up the resort.
The beach in itself is quite a sight worth seeing, with golden sands during summer months that invite you to come out and have a great time. Plus, the actual size of the beach itself is quite vast, providing you with a lot of space to move around or enjoy sports activities along the shoreline. But your activities are not limited on the beach as you can also do some water sports, such as surfing, scuba diving, jet skiing, paragliding, and many more. For the not-so-adventurous types, you can still embrace the beauty of the ocean by taking boat trips to the Portimao river. There is also a water park called Slide and Splash situated in Lagoa that showcases sea lion and dolphin shows.
If you want to be treated to gastronomic delights, Praia Da Rocha offers excellent choices of restaurants, and some of them are even lined up along the beach so you won't have to go anywhere else. There's Atlantis that serves European cuisine for an excellent value and packaged with world-class customer service. If you are craving American cuisine, head on over to Texas Steakhouse, which offers the best steaks in town.
The nightlife is also festive in Praia Da Rocha with lots of casinos and bars around the avenue for you to visit every night. But before your return trip home, make sure to drop by the souvenir stores and shopping malls within the resort area to take something with you to remind this wonderful adventure at Praia Da Rocha.
